The IGA Hiking Guide – Wilderness Leader training is primarily aimed at leading hiking trips with a focus on nature. This includes guiding groups and how to handle topics in the field. It also covers teaching and leading, safety, and preparing trips and (day) hikes.

The program must be completed before December 31 of the academic year.

After completing 'Wilderness Leader', you can guide in many different areas around the world, including the Rocky Mountain National Parks in Canada (Jasper, Banff, Kootenay, Yoho).

Participants must be proficient in the English language.

– IGA Apprentice Interpretive Guide 2 days
– Group management and trip planning

– Five days in the French Alps in summer. Focus on Nature & Wildlife, Orientation and Interpretation.
– Online course Mountains 101 (12 lessons) Recommended to take before the IGA course
– Online Flora & Fauna Course

Costs: € 1,850
(excluding travel, accommodation costs, insurance and IGA membership)
Overnight stays at De Voshaar (camping) are included.
Overnight stays in France: €10 to €15 per person per night.

Theoretical material:
After registration, you will receive the login code for our online learning environment.
The Wilderness Handbook 'Tracks of the White Wolf' must be purchased by the user.
