Meet the Voshaar Team, comprised of experienced, professional, and certified instructors, trainers, and instructors. All our staff are also MFA (Medic First Aid) and/or WFA (Wilderness First Aid) certified.
Raoul Kluivers
Sports instructor and owner of the Voshaar. Born in 1969 at the place where the outdoor sports center is now, Raoul has been involved in sports and nature from an early age. He started giving training in '86 and in the early 90's he followed the training at the CIOS in Heerenveen. Raoul combines his years of experience with pure passion for sport and nature and preferably a combination between these 2 items. He has been organizing kayaking weeks in the Alps since 1995 and the GKM (1st edition '98) organized by him is one of the oldest adventure races in Europe. In addition, he always tries to be original and innovative, which results in challenging courses and activities. Raoul's greatest passion is nature and he is a true connoisseur of birds, mammals and tracking.
Raoul has been a yearly guide in the French Alps since 1975 and has also become a certified guide in the Canadian Rocky Mountains, earning the title IGA Professional Interpretive Hiking Guide. His first run was the Beltrum survival run in 1991. Raoul subsequently specialized in survival running training alongside running and fitness training. He introduced the survival run at the CIOS (Central Institute for Nature and Environment) in 1992 and earned a degree in running and fitness coaching, partly through an annual periodization program for that sport.
His experience and expertise offers customers the extra that is often missed elsewhere.

Since then, he has climbed a lot in the Alps, but eventually also outside Europe, e.g. Tanzania (Kilimanjaro), Nepal (Parchamo in the Himalayas) and Chile / Argentina (Aconcagua in the Andes). Alpine sports also remain a great passion. In the late 90s, he first came into contact with survival sports. In 2001, he eventually exchanged defense for civil society and also moved back to Eibergen.
